Littlegirl spends a lot of time with a mysterious being who introduced himself as wizard Merlin, and is trapped in the blue crystal. He is her little secret; her aunts do not know about him. With his help, Littlegirl learns that her grandmother is dead. Littlegirl’s whole world collapses. She realizes that she has nowhere to return to.
However, Merlin convinces Littlegirl that it is possible to resurrect her grandmother. Indeed, one part of her body still survives, in the shape of the little bird that was waiting for her when she came to Mezzarthys. To resurrect her, they need hair from the last days of her life.
Dereq tells Littlegirl that Hissatam is planning to go to the Lands of Dragons. Littlegirl decides to use this opportunity to get hold of some of Grandmother’s hair and have her resurrected. She follows Hissatam, who guards the only known, fully functioning gateway. Merlin supports her and advises her constantly. He needs a magical sword from the Lands of Dragons, so he can free himself from the crystal. In the meantime, Hissatam finds Littlegirl’s drawing, in which her spy, an extremely bigheaded tomcat Vassilli, who lives in the house with witches, Littlegirl’s great aunts, wrapped his report. Immediately she grasps that a child from the Lands of Dragons made the drawing and sends her servant Bazaltras to find her. In the Temple of Ghosts, Yambzrana, Littlegirl releases herself from her body and passes, with Hissatam, to the other side…

Seelia took the Little Girl to the reading room, where were many children. The wizards seemed to think that it was safer to bring their children here then leave them at home. Dereq was there too and he looked sad and grumpy. Seelia walked to him: “I know that you are insulted, but she needs your help now. Please, take care of her, I need to see Carapito in the Midnight Hall. The council have started.”
Dereq didn’t answer so the witch asked again: “Come on, will you help me?”
Dereq nodded and Seelia vanished like a vapour. Here the children gathered around him and the girl and began to ask questions.
“Are you a ghost or a demon?” Asked one little boy ant shook his hand in the place where the girl stood.
“She’s Little Girl from the Seelia’s house near Steep Cliffs. Don’t you remember her? She’s already been here.” Dereq answered before the girl managed to open her mouth.
“What happened to you?” Continued the little boy and kept trying to touch her.
“Look, Fenzi, we don’t know yet what happened to her, but Carapito will surely help her so, If you don’t mind, I would like to talk to her alone.” Dereq politely said to the surrounding children. They began to reluctantly walk away, when the door slam opened and a tall, thin boy dashed in: “So there, there you are! Well you really made your turn” What on earth did you do? We are all in big mess because of you!”
The children looked at Roby-Duck and at the Little Girl’s rippling image with surprise.
“Be quiet you idiot!” Dereq shouted and jumped out off the arm-chair.
“You be quiet! We all had to drag here because of her!”
“Roby?” The girl spoke with urging voice.
“My mum told me everything!” The boy continued and looked around to see impact of his words. “There is going to be a war because of you!”
“Oh, cut the crap!” Dereq growled and pierced Roby with his eyes.
But Roby put his arms akimbo, bent in the way that he almost touched Dereq’s nose with his and hissed him into face: “It is true! We will have a war with Hissatam because of her! Just say,” he added loudly and looked at the others: “Who let him out?”
“She didn’t let a demon out but a strange wizard who asked her for help and look what happened to her because of this! And Carapito didn’t say a word about a war with Hissatam. On the contrary, she seems to disappear!”
